Stewed potatoes with turkey, recipe in a saucepan
This is the simplest and, perhaps, the most popular way of preparing stewed potatoes with any meat, including turkey. To prepare such a dish you need to take:
Turkey meat – 700 g (fillet is preferable, but not necessary);
potatoes - 6-7 medium-sized root vegetables;
carrot – 1 root vegetable (small);
onion – 1 medium head;
mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons (if mayonnaise is not favored by your household, you can use sour cream or a mixture of sour cream and soy sauce);
garlic – 2-3 cloves;
vegetable oil – 50 ml;
water – approximately 150 ml;
salt and spices - as desired and to taste.
Wash the meat, remove the skin (if any) and cut into small pieces. Cut the peeled carrots into slices, and the onion into large cubes. Pour vegetable oil into a saucepan with a thick bottom, place pieces of turkey and carrots with onions. Fry the food over medium heat for 5-10 minutes. At the same time, peel the potatoes, cut into medium cubes (3-5 cm) and add to the meat and vegetables. Pour the entire contents of the saucepan with water at room temperature, add mayonnaise and mix well.
Now you can increase the heat under the saucepan and bring the future dish to a boil. Immediately after this, potatoes with meat and vegetables can be salted, peppered and finely chopped garlic can be added to it. Cover the saucepan with a lid, reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring regularly. After this, remove the lid and simmer for about another 30 minutes until fully cooked.
By the way, using a similar technology, you can cook stewed potatoes with turkey not only in a saucepan, but also in a cauldron or wok. It will turn out even tastier. The main thing is that the above kitchen utensils have lids.
Stewed potatoes with turkey in a duck pot (in the oven)
You can stew potatoes and turkey not only on the stove, but also in it, that is, in the oven. Of course, this will require appropriate containers with a lid. The best option would be a regular duckling. Any will do: cast iron, ceramic or heat-resistant glass. It doesn't matter. You can do it even simpler by stewing the potatoes and turkey in portions - in pots. It turns out pretty good too.
As for the ingredients and their quantities, they are no different from the set of products described in the previous recipe. And the cooking technology differs little. Cut the turkey meat and marinate for half an hour in a mixture of mayonnaise, spices and soy sauce. You can make a different marinade - it's not critical.
At the same time, fry finely chopped onion in a frying pan. Pour a little oil into the bottom of the duckling pan, place the turkey, top with prepared onions, chopped garlic, carrots cut into slices and potato cubes. Salt, pepper and add water.
Cover the duckling with a lid and place in an oven preheated to approximately 190-200°C for 50-60 minutes. When the time is up, you can turn off the oven and let the dish stand in the cooling oven for another 15 minutes. It is better to serve the dish immediately after this.
By the way, you can also add mushrooms to this recipe as an additional ingredient. Before putting them in ducklings or pots, they need to be fried along with onions. It turns out great.
Well, instead of water, you can use broth. Some chefs even recommend using bouillon cubes for this purpose. There's nothing wrong with that. Just don’t forget that in this case you need to add less salt to the dish, since there is more than enough salt in the concentrated broth. So, be careful.
Stewed potatoes with turkey in a slow cooker
The process of preparing stewed potatoes with turkey can be greatly simplified by using a universal appliance found in many kitchens called a multicooker. True, there are some nuances here too. The set of products for getting stewed potatoes with turkey in a slow cooker for lunch/dinner is still needed, and there is absolutely no point in describing it. Technology is another matter.
Wash the turkey well, remove the skin and cut into pieces. Chop the onion finely, and it is better to grate the carrots on a large shredder. Pour vegetable oil into the bowl of the device, put the prepared ingredients and add a little water or broth. Close the multicooker and set the “frying” mode to leave alone for 15 minutes. During this time, prepare the potatoes, i.e. wash, peel and cut into relatively large cubes.
When the heat treatment of the first bookmark is completed, add potatoes, salt, spices and the remaining water or broth to the bowl. Now you need to switch the multicooker to the “quenching” mode and rest for another hour. The device will do the rest on its own.

How to cook with photos step by step
Prepare the products according to the list, peel and wash the potato tubers, dry. Cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes. It is also worth preparing a small saucepan.
Peel small carrots and onions, wash and dry the vegetables. Cut the onion into half rings, cut the carrots into cubes.
Rinse and dry the turkey fillet, cut into small pieces. Peel a couple of garlic cloves and cut into slices.
Transfer the vegetables and turkey to the pan and stir everything together. Now you need to pour warm water into the pan, the amount can be varied, if you like it thinner, pour in enough water so that it completely covers all the ingredients.
You also need to add salt and pepper, you can optionally add a bay leaf, a little paprika, it all depends on your taste preferences.
Simmer the potatoes over low heat for about 45-60 minutes. I like it when the potatoes become very, very soft and crumbly, so the simmering time is this, but you can add another 10-15 minutes, it also all depends on the type of potato.
