During cooking, it is very important to learn by trial and error. Sometimes your mannik may burn because the temperature sensor shows an incorrect temperature - next time you should set the adjustment lever to a slightly lower value.

Also, the cause of burning can be a poorly greased surface of the baking dish - be more careful.

Do not be afraid to experiment with the recipe: you can slightly change the proportions to achieve the desired effect. For example, if you increase the proportion of eggs, then the cake will look like a biscuit, and if you put more sour cream, it will turn out to be more tender and soft.

Such sweetness as manna is very fond of all sorts of additives - raisins, dried fruits, just fruit slices or candied fruits. Knead them into the dough just before baking. You can also decorate the cake before serving with powdered sugar or berries.

We are waiting for your comments and ratings - this is very important for us!

Mannik without flour in execution is so simple and easy that everyone can handle it. Thanks to the composition of the semolina dough - the biscuit is not capricious, as is the case with flour, and pastries always have a good rise. To give different flavors to the biscuit, additives are used - candied fruits and cinnamon, dried fruits and vanillin, chocolate pieces and culinary poppy seeds, honey and berries, apples and pumpkin.

To decorate the top of the manna, culinary experts offer it: sprinkle it, grease it, and soak it. The result is a culinary masterpiece - a real competitor to difficult-to-bake cakes.

Many families love semolina dishes, despite the established opinion about semolina as the most useless and stupid cereal. Eating semolina 1-2 times a week will definitely not harm anyone.

Numerous and varied recipes for manna compete for the role of the classic: the first are baked with sour milk, the second with kefir, and the third with sour cream of different fat content. All these products are united by one name - fermented milk, choose - to your taste.

Mannik on sour cream

For me, mannik is the taste of childhood, so I will share with you the classic recipe without flour, which I got from my mother, but I still made a couple of changes from myself 🙂

It's a versatile cake that's great without or with toppings, and can also be used as a base for a cake.
The recipe is so simple that even a child can handle it - it was as a child that I first cooked it. If you've never tried manna, be sure to fix it!

So, a step-by-step recipe for manna on sour cream:

Break three eggs into a deep bowl, add a pinch of salt, sugar and vanilla sugar, if you add it. The third egg in the photo was hidden behind sugar :)

2

Mix with a fork or whisk, there is no need to beat strongly, so I never use a mixer in this recipe. However, with a strong desire, you can beat it at a low speed 🙂

3

Now let's talk about sour cream.
You can take sour cream of any fat content that you have at hand, depending on this, the amount of semolina will change slightly.

The fatter the sour cream, the less semolina will be needed and, accordingly, the set.

Sour cream can be used not the first freshness, even if it is a little stale in the refrigerator 😉

After all, sometimes each of us probably forgets about some product, and the question arises of what to do. And here is the answer what to cook with expired sour cream.

But if you never spoil anything or you immediately throw away the spoiled product, you haven’t read this 😉

Add sour cream and mix.

Some soak semolina in sour cream or another fermented milk product, but personally I don’t see any need for this: even without these procedures, the cake turns out just fine.

4

Mix semolina with baking powder, add to the dough and mix again.

If you use soda, add it at the end: quench 1/2 teaspoon of soda, pour into the dough, mix quickly and immediately send to the oven.

5

And the most important thing: how much to add semolina? To begin with, add 200 grams (about one glass), mix and look at the consistency of the dough.

The dough should be quite thick, like a pancake. If it turned out to be liquid, then add semolina in a tablespoon, achieving the desired density.

6

Pour the finished dough into any form (I have 28cm), greased with butter and / or covered with baking paper.

Cover the form with foil, and the cake will not burn even in the most “original” oven 😉

After 30 minutes, pierce the pie in the middle with a wooden skewer or toothpick: if the skewer comes out dry, the manna is ready!
If the dough remains on the skewer, leave for another five minutes, after which we repeat the procedure.

7

I love mannik with condensed milk - I think they are perfect for each other :)
You can pour it on top or smear it inside, or you can do it this way and that.

Mannik goes well with jam and jam, any berries and some fruits, such as bananas.

Tell us in the comments, what do you like to serve mannik with?

I can’t wait to enjoy my favorite taste since childhood, so I’m going to drink tea and wish you bon appetit!

Kitchen tools

So that the preparation of manna does not take you too much free time, it is better to prepare ahead of time all the kitchen utensils and tools necessary in the process:

  • a pie mold (preferably a regular round one) with a diameter of 24 cm or more;
  • several bowls (deep) with a capacity of 420 ml or more;
  • cutlery (knives, forks, spoons);
  • cotton and paper towels;
  • kitchen scale or regular measuring cup;
  • potholders and a wooden spatula.

Also, keep a food processor with attachments or a hand blender ready to prepare your pie ingredients even faster.

You will need

How to choose the right ingredients

The pie will be even tastier if you pay close attention to the ingredients that make up its basis.

  • Try to choose sour cream with a high fat content - at least 20%. A more watery ingredient will make your cake too crumbly, even brittle.
  • Semolina must be fresh and of high quality - if it has been stored in an open package for a long time, it should not be used to make this pie.

Cooking sequence

  1. Pour the eggs into a deep bowl and mix them a little.

Pour semolina and lightly stir the mass, here you can use a blender.

mix until you get a homogeneous mass.

Then add sugar

and stir the dough until its grains dissolve. A food processor or hand blender is suitable for this purpose.

We spread the berries and baking soda, gently mix the ingredients into the dough.

Carefully grease the pie dish with sunflower oil.

Pour the dough into it and carefully level the surface with a spatula.

Preheat the oven to 150 degrees and bake the product for about 15-20 minutes.

Pie "Mannik" on sour cream - video

The video offered for viewing contains all the secrets of baking a surprisingly tender and delicate semolina pie on sour cream.

How can you decorate this cake?

By itself, the product turns out to be very attractive and fragrant, so it is most likely not worth worrying about its additional design. However, if you feel like it, you can decorate your baked goods in a few simple ways to make them look even more appetizing.

  • Gently grease the surface of the pie with condensed milk (can be boiled) and place confectionery powder on it - it is sold in any store and looks like stars, hearts or other figures. Children really like these decorations, they excite the appetite very well.
  • Also, the cake can be smeared with honey or sweet syrup, and then put in the refrigerator for a couple of hours so that the decoration freezes.
  • A simple sour cream made from two parts sour cream whipped with a bit of powdered sugar will also make your baked goods look just perfect.

How can you vary the standard recipe

I have never heard of a hostess who would not like to experiment with baking: we constantly add other ingredients to the classic recipe in order to more vividly express the taste of the product. Below are some of my works.

  • Finely chopped candied fruit, marmalade, crushed nuts or steamed raisins give indescribable beauty and interesting taste to any manna. Add these ingredients in small amounts (no more than a teaspoon) at the final stage of kneading the dough.
  • If you do not have berries, it does not matter - the cake can be made without any filler at all. Also, instead of berries, raisins or prunes, dried apricots and dates are perfect.
  • Many people cook delicious mannik on sour cream without adding eggs, which can be replaced with one glass of kefir. Such a product will turn out to be more crumbly and fragrant, but it will take more time to bake.

Diet mannik is quickly prepared and always succeeds, regardless of the grinding of cereals and the consistency of sour cream. We share a recipe on how to cook mannik on sour cream without flour.

A distinctive feature of this type of biscuit is that mannik on sour cream is cooked without flour. Because of this, the technology is slightly different than for biscuit dough: it will take time for it to swell.

So, how to cook mannik:

  1. Whisk the eggs until they double in volume.
  2. Continue beating while adding sugar. Then pour in sour cream, add semolina. Stir so that there are no lumps.
  3. Close the container with cling film (lid) and leave for 40 minutes. As a result, the dough should thicken and acquire the consistency of pancakes.
  4. Pour soda (baking powder) into the dough and mix.
  5. Pour the dough into a mold and place in an oven preheated to 190 degrees.
  6. Bake for half an hour. If the dough is more than the rate suggested in the recipe, then increase the baking time. A browned crust will indicate the readiness of the pie.

Mannik on sour cream resembles a biscuit in terms of dough consistency and taste. You can also put apples, dried apricots, jam in it. If you add cocoa, you get an analogue of a chocolate biscuit. Do not be afraid to experiment - and mannik will not let you down!

Ingredients

For the test

  • semolina - 220 g;
  • sour cream (15-20% fat) - 220 g;
  • chicken eggs (large) - 3 pcs.;
  • sugar - 75 g;
  • baking powder for dough - 2 tsp;
  • vanillin - 1 g.

For mold lubrication

  • butter (72.5% fat) - 20-30 g.

For decoration

  • powdered sugar or coconut flakes - 20 g.

Cooking steps

Step #1. Start the recipe by preparing semolina. To do this, take a small and deep bowl and pour the semolina into it. Add medium fat sour cream to a bowl. With sour cream, the semolina pie turns out to be very tender, but if necessary, it can be replaced with fatty kefir.

Mix sour cream with semolina thoroughly with a tablespoon so that the mass is as homogeneous as possible. Then leave the ingredients alone for 60 minutes. During this time, semolina should swell well and become soft.

Such preparation will greatly simplify the recipe itself, as well as save you from lumps or crunchy grains in the finished baking.

Step #2. Break the eggs into a separate bowl. Make sure all the products you use are fresh and of good quality. Pour sugar into the eggs. Beat the eggs with sugar with a special whisk until a homogeneous foamy state. Try to achieve complete dissolution of sugar in the egg.

Step #3. Carefully insert the beaten eggs into the swollen semolina. Then add the baking powder and vanilla to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients well in a bowl - now the dough is completely ready. You can safely replace the baking powder with 1 tsp. soda. The recipe will not be affected by this.

Step number 4. Now move on to preparing the baking dish or multicooker bowl. This recipe is universal, so the mannik will turn out equally tasty both in a slow cooker and in the oven. Grease the bottom and sides of the mold with butter.

If you wish, you can use sunflower oil, but then the semolina cake will not be so fragrant.

Step number 5. Carefully pour the prepared dough into a baking dish or into a multicooker bowl. If you bake manna in the oven, then remember one important thing: the smaller the diameter of the mold, the higher the cake and the more time it will take to cook it.

Step number 6. We bake in a multicooker: cover the bowl with a special lid, set the "Baking" mode. Cook the cake for 65 minutes. After the characteristic signal of the multicooker, turn it off and leave the cake under the lid for 10 minutes. After the specified time, remove the dessert from the multicooker bowl and transfer to a large flat plate.

Bake in the oven: preheat the oven to 180 degrees, place a baking dish with manna there. Bake the cake for about 30-50 minutes until light brown. The cooking time will depend on the power of your oven. When the semolina pie is baked, you can take out the form. Let the manna cool a little in the baking dish, and then take it out and put it on a dish.

Here is the finished recipe. Cut the finished semolina pie without flour into small squares for convenience. You can decorate the dessert with icing sugar or coconut flakes as desired. So your mannik on sour cream will turn out not only fragrant, but also original.
